Roots and Wings, the sustainable living initiative of South Church in Dobbs Ferry, offers green spirituality programs, gardening workshops and permaculture presentations. Our goal is to learn how to feed our bodies, regenerate the environment and nourish our spirits.
We have two gardens on the campus of South Presbyterian Church, in Dobbs Ferry.
ALL ARE WELCOME TO COME
GARDEN--regulars, first-timers, and one-timers. Stop by! We garden together
twice each week:
- Saturday mornings, from 10 -
noon
- Thursday evenings, from 5:30
- 6:30 PM
This gives us a chance to learn
from each other and experience the old saying "many hands make light
work."
The Kitchen
Garden, at 343 Broadway, behind South Church in Dobbs Ferry,
is our first community garden. And it's different than most. We have 6 private
plots, as well as common garden space where we grow food for the Dobbs Ferry
Food Pantry. We share tools, know-how, compost bins, veggies, and laughs! MORE. CONTACT: Gabriela

The Labyrinth
Garden,at 343 Broadway, in front
of South Church, is the first workspace
of Roots & Wings. It was designed as a 22’ circular
labyrinth permaculture edible garden on well-traveled Route 9. The threshold
welcome was carved by local artist Cheryl Hajjar from South Church's original
carriage stone. MORE. CONTACT: Chris at Coleolsewski@aol.com
